Day 1 Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, China’s capital, you will be greeted and escorted to hotel. The balance of the day is free to relax or begin exploring on your own.

Day 2 Beijing (AB, L, SD)
The full day tour of China’s fascinating capital begins with the Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City, home of Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. After lunch, visit the Temple of Heaven, where the emperors came to pray for good harvests and pay their appreciation. Then, visit the Summer Palace, taking a leisure stroll while admiring the thousands of ancient murals along the Long Corridor and a boat ride on Kunming Lake (weather permitting). This evening, enjoy a fabulous welcome banquet featuring the famous Peking duck.

Day 3 Beijing (AB, L)
The highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall. Enjoy the dramatic vistas and marvel at the Wall as it climbs and descends steep ridges and narrow valleys. A scenic cable car ride enhances your visit through the steep hills. In the afternoon, enjoy a pedicab tour of the Hutongs, the old-city neighborhoods of narrow lanes and courtyard houses hidden behind Beijing’s modern façade. Get acquainted with the local residents on a family visit.

Day 4 Beijing » Zhengzhou » Dengfeng (AB, L)
This morning, transfer to train station for high speed train to Zhengzhou City (about 3 hours). Upon arrival, you will visit Henan National Museum, which is one of the biggest museums in China. Then proceed to Dengfeng, the hometown of Chinese Kungfu and check into hotel.

Day 5 Dengfeng » Luoyang (AB, L)
The highlight today is to visit Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of Chinese Shaolin Kungfu as well as the origin of Chinese Zen Buddhism, which was founded in the year 495 AD. Visit the cemetery of the abbots and famous monks, also called Pagoda Forest, the biggest of its kind in China. Visit the world culture heritage – one of the Historic Buildings the center of earth and heaven – Song Yue Temple Pagoda. Then drive to Luoyang city and check into hotel.

Day 6 Luoyahng » Xi’an (AB, L)
After breakfast, you will visit the Longmen Grottoes. It is the three most important Buddhist sculptures and carvings in China. Continue your visit to the Guanlin Temple which was built to commemorate the great General Guan Yu of the State of Shu during the Three Kingdoms Period. Then take high-speed train to Xi’an city. Upon arrival, visit the Ancient City Wall and the Muslim Street. Check in to your hotel.

Day 7 Xi'an (AB, L, DS)
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, home to an army of more than 6,000 life-size statues excavated from the tomb of the first emperor of the Qin Dynasty. After lunch, visit the Shaanxi Provincial Museum, renowned for its collection of Han and Tang dynasty antiquities. In the evening enjoy a special dumpling dinner and cultural show recreating the music, costumes and dance of the Tang Dynasty.

Day 8 Xi'an » Shanghai (AB, L)
Transfer to airport for flight to Shanghai, the “Paris of the Orient”. Upon arrival, your sightseeing features the bustling shopping street, Nanjing Road, and the Bund, the famous promenade along the Huangpu River. Check in to your hotel.

Day 9 Shanghai (AB, L)
After breakfast, visit Oriental Pearl TV Tower, which is the world’s third tallest TV and radio tower surpassed in height only by towers in Toronto, Canada and Moscow. Continue your visit to the Shanghai Urban Planning Exhibition Hall. In the afternoon, visit Yu Garden, famous for its rock gardens, pavilions, halls and ponds, and Old Shanghai Bazaar, with shops filled with all manner of interesting curios.

Day 10 Shanghai (AB)
Spend today at leisure and explore this vibrant city on your own.

Day 11 Shanghai » Home (AB, L)
Farewell to Shanghai. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to USA.
