Day 1 Arrive Shanghai
Upon arrival in Shanghai, the “Paris of Orient”, you will be greeted and escorted to the hotel.

Day 2 Shanghai (AB, L)
Start your morning with a visit to the famous Shanghai Museum, China’s most up-to-date museum showcasing the country’s ancient glory. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Yu Garden, famous for its rock gardens,
pavilions, halls and ponds, and Old Shanghai Bazaar, with shops filled with all manner of interesting curios. Continue your visit stopping in the Old Town and the modern Xintiandi.

Day 3 Shanghai » Suzhou Optional Tour » Shanghai (AB)
Spend today at leisure to explore this vibrant city on your own or taking an optional tour to Suzhou, a charming city of canals filled with gardens from the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Many of which are UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites.

Day 4 Shanghai » Yichang » Yangtze River Cruise (AB, D)
Your morning is free at leisure. Fly to Yichang in the afternoon. After dinner, board the 5-star MV President 8 Cruise and begin your memorable journey on the Yangtze River.

Day 5 Yangtze River Cruise Journey (AB, L, D)
This morning, your cruise will take you on a shore excursion to the massive Three Gorges Dam Site, the largest hydroelectric project in the world. Then sail through the five stages of the Three Gorges’ double-lane ship lock.

Day 6 Yangtze River Cruise Journey (AB, L, D)
Today’s excursion is to Fengdu with fantastic temples of underworld demons and gods. It is known as the “Ghost City” and is the place for punishing the devil and awarding good people.

Day 8 Yangtze River Cruise » Chongqing » Lhasa (AB, L)
Your cruise arrives in the mountainous city of Chongqing where you
disembark. Enjoy a city tour which includes a visit to the Stillwell Museum where you will see a collection of World War II memorabilia, including exhibits on the Flying Tigers. Fly to Lhasa, the capital of Tibet. Upon arrival, you will be greeted with a traditional welcome ceremony.

Day 9 Lhasa (AB, L)
The highlight of today’s tour features the Potala Palace, which rises majestically from the face of scared Putuo Hill, Constructed in the 17th century by the 5th Dalai Lama, it is the political and religious center of Tibet. Continue to visit Jokhang Monastery, one of the e Tibet’s holiest shrines. This is the main destination for pilgrims traveling to Lhasa from throughout Tibet. You will see pilgrim prostrating themselves in front of the temple. The Barkhor (Eight Corners) Street, circling around the monastery, is an important marketplace.

Day 10 Lhasa (AB, L)
Today’s sightseeing begins with Sera Monastery, a largest monastery of the Gelukpa Sect and the Norbulingka Palace, the summer palace of Tibetan Kings. Continue to visit Tibet Museum inaugurated in 1999 with collection of around 1000 artifacts, from examples of Tibetan art to architectural design throughout the cultural and history of Tibet.

Day 11 Lhasa » Xi’an (AB)
Spend your morning at leisure to explore the majestic Tibet on your own.
Fly to Xi’an in the afternoon, the China’s ancient capital.

Day 12 Xi’an (AB, L, DS)
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, home to an army of more than 6,000 life-size Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses excavated from the tomb of the 1st emperor of the Qin Dynasty. In the evening, enjoy a special dumpling dinner show recreating the music, costumes and dance of the Tang Dynasty.

Day 13 Xian » Beijing (AB, L)
This morning, visit the Ancient City Wall, built during the 14th century. Continue to visit Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of Xi’an. After lunch, fly to Beijing, China’s capital.

Day 14 Beijing (AB, L, SD)
Enjoy a full day tour of China’s fascinating capital begins with the Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City, home of Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace, taking a leisure stroll while admiring the thousands of ancient murals along the Long Corridor and a boat ride on Kunming Lake (weather permitting).
In the evening, enjoy a fabulous welcome banquet featuring Peking duck at Qianmen 1416 Duck Restaurant.

Day 15 Beijing (AB, L)
The highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Enjoy the dramatic vistas of the Great Wall as it descends and rises as far as the eye can see. In the afternoon, visit Temple of Heaven where the emperor came here to pray for good harvest twice a year.

Day 16 Beijing » Home (AB)
Farewell to Beijing. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to USA.
