Continue your visit stopping in the Old Town and modern Xintiandi.

Start your morning visit to the Three Gorges Dam at Sandouping, the largest in the world. Later sail through the Three Gorges Dam ship locks. Sail through Xiling Gorge, the longest (41 miles), and the deepest of the Three Gorges.
Optional: Tribe of the Three Gorges Shore Excursion (river conditions permitting), offering an interesting glimpse into life in the Xiling Gorge region.

Transfer to another vessel for a relaxing excursion through the attractive gorges of Goddess Stream. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to the gorges of Shennong Stream. Later enter Wu Gorge, known for its quiet beauty, forest-covered mountains, and cliffs so sheer that the sun barely penetrates the precipices. Then sail through Qutang Gorge, the shortest (5 miles), narrowest (500 feet), and most dramatic gorge.
Optional Shore Excursion to White Emperor City (river conditions permitting), an ancient city overlooking the western end of Qutang Gorge.

Take a shore excursion to Shibaozhai, with its impressive wooden pagoda, appropriately named “The Pearl of the Yangtze”. Depending on river conditions, an alternate excursion may be substituted to Fengdu, visiting either the new relocation village.

This morning, disembark in Chongqing and meet your local guide for a city tour which includes a visit to the Stillwell Museum where you will see a collection of World War II memorabilia, including exhibits on the Flying Tigers. After lunch, take high speed train to Chengdu (approximate 2 hours).
Upon arrival in Chengdu, check into the Tianfu Sunshine Hotel or similar.

Enjoy a full day tour of Chengdu starting with a visit to the Panda Breeding Center established in 1987 and opened to the public in 1995. The breeding center aims to increase the population of giant pandas and eventually release some of the animals back into the wild. Later visit Dufu Cottage, the residence of a famous ancient poet. Then take a walk along the ancient Jinli Street before enjoying a special local flavor Sichuan Snack Dinner.
