Day 1 | Arrive Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, China’s capital, you will be greeted and escorted to the hotel.
Day 2 | Beijing (B, L, SD)
Enjoy a full day tour of China’s fascinating capital begins with the Tiananmen Square and the Imperial Palace in the Forbidden City, home of Chinese emperors for more than 500 years. Take a pedicab on a Hutong Tour through the ancient parts of the city and get acquainted with the local residents on a family visit. Later enjoy a fabulous welcome banquet featuring Peking duck at Da Dong Restaurant.
Day 3 | Beijing (B, L)
The highlight today is an excursion to the Great Wall at Mutianyu. Enjoy the dramatic vistas of the Great Wall as it descends and rises as far as the eye can see. In the afternoon, visit Temple of Heaven where the emperor came here to pray for good harvest twice a year.
Day 4 | Beijing Xi’an (B, SL)
This morning, visit to the Summer Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Enjoy a scenic boat ride on Kunming Lake (weather permitting). Enjoy a special Imperial lunch at The Bai family Garden Restaurant or Champion Mansion to experience the delicious delicacy and the royal service of ancient China. Take a late afternoon flight to Xi’an, China’s ancient capital.
Day 5 | Xi'an (B, L, DS)
Today’s highlight is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, home to an army of more than 6, 000 life-size Terra-Cotta Warriors and Horses excavated from the tomb of the 1st emperor of the Qin Dynasty. Visit the Ancient City Wall, built during the 14th century. Enjoy the Imperial Dinner Show at The Tang Dynasty Xi’an (Tang Yue Gong) recreating the music, costumes and dances of that era.
Day 6 | Xi'an Chengdu (B, L)
Fly to Chengdu, is known as “The Land of Abundance”. Upon arrival, visit the museum at Sanxingdui, site of a mysterious ancient civilization dating back 3,000 years.
Day 7 | Chengdu (B, L, SD)
Enjoy your day tour in Chengdu starting with a visit to the Panda Breeding Center established in 1987 and opened to the public in 1995. The breeding center aims to increase the population of giant pandas and eventually release some of the animals back into the wild. Later visit Dufu Cottage, the residence of a famous ancient poet. Then take a walk along the ancient Jinli Street before enjoying a special local flavor Sichuan Snack Dinner.
Day 8 | Chengdu Guilin (AB, L, SD)
Fly to the scenic Guilin. Enjoy a city tour including the Reed Flute Cave, and the scenic Elephant Trunk Hill. This evening, you will enjoy a Tea Banquet (Cuisines cook with tea) at famous Tea Cuisine Restaurant.
Day 9 | Guilin Yangshuo Guilin (B, L)
Cruise along the beautiful Li River, and experience the breathtaking of Guilin with its unique limestone rock formations. Disembark at the charming Yangshuo village and browse the antique and craft markets or relax at one of the local cafes. Return to Guilin in the late afternoon.
Day 10 | Guilin Hangzhou (B, L, D)
Fly to Hangzhou and start exploring this charming 2,000-year-old city with a boat ride on the scenic West Lake. Enjoy a grand musical show, “Impression West Lake”, a unique metropolitan out-door performance on a natural stages setting, emphasizing Han folk stories, innovative and technical stage effects and the beauty of Hangzhou’s urban landscape.
Day 11 | Hangzhou Shanghai (B, L)
Visit Lingying Temple and Feilai Peak. Then enjoy a tea ceremony, sipping Dragon–well–green–tea at the tea plantation. Enjoy a special lunch at Lou Wai Lou Restaurant for famous traditional Hangzhou cuisine. Built in 1848, this was Premier Zhou Enlai’s favorite restaurant and is right on the lake. Later, enjoy a bullet Train ride to Shanghai, the “Paris of the Orient”. Upon arrival, your sightseeing features the bustling shopping Street, Nanjing Road and the Bund, famous promenade along the Huangpu River.
Day 12 | Shanghai (B, L, SD)
Start your morning with a visit to the famous Shanghai Museum, China’s most up-to-date museum showcasing the country’s ancient glory. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Yu Garden, famous for its rock gardens, pavilions, halls and ponds, and Old Shanghai Bazaar, with shops filled with all manner of interesting curios. Continue your visit stopping in the Old Town and the modern Xintiandi. Tonight enjoy the city’s best Shanghai cuisine at Ye Old Station Restaurant (once a monastery) serving 1920 style Shanghai cuisine or similar.
Day 13 | Shanghai Wuzhen Shanghai (B, L)
Travel to nearby picturesque water towns of Wuzhen, the famous “Oriental Venice”, stroll along the beautiful Watertown with a good number of side alleys, bridges, ancient docks and secondary waterways which is a fascinating place to stroll around. Return to Shanghai in the late afternoon.
Day 14 | Shanghai Home (AB)
Farewell to Shanghai. Transfer to the airport for your flight back to USA.
