Day 1 | Arrive Chengdu
Upon arrival in Chengdu, “The Land of Abundance”, you will be greeted and escorted to hotel.
Day 2 | Chengdu (B, L, SD)
Start your tour to Chengdu with a visit to the Panda Breeding Center. The breeding Center aims to increase the population of giant pandas and eventually release some of the animals back into the wild. Later visit Dufu Cottage, the residence of a famous ancient poet. Then take a walk along ancient Jinli Street before enjoying a special local flavor Sichuan Snack Dinner.
Day 3 | Chengdu Leshan (Giant Buddha) Chengdu (B, L)
This morning drive to Leshan and ride a boat to visit the spectacular Leshan Giant Buddha which is the largest Buddha statue in the world, 233 feet in height and 28 feet in width. A UNESCO World Heritage site. Carving of the giant statue begun in the Tang Dynasty and took more than 90 years. Return to Chengdu in the late afternoon.
Day 4 | Chengdu Jiuzhaigou (B, L)
This morning fly to Jiuzhaigou. Upon arrival, meet your local guide and drive to Huanglong, one of the most scenic places in the world, with it’s 3500 mult-colored pools and many waterfalls. It is surrounded by snow covered peaks, with water flowing everywhere. A special treat.
Day 5 | Jiuzhaigou (B, L)
Today visit Jiuzhaigou with over 100 multi-colored lakes and some of the most beautiful waterfalls in the world. The Chinese call this place "Fairyland on Earth". In the Tibetan language, Jiuzhaigou means "Nine Tibetan Villages". Your visits to Jiuzhaigou and Huanglong National Parks will stay with you forever. They are both UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Day 6 | Jiuzhaigou Xi’an (B, L, DS)
Fly to Xi’an this morning. Upon arrival, visit the Ancient City Wall, built between 1374–1378 AD. Then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of Xi’an. In the evening enjoy a special dumpling dinner and cultural show recreating the music, costumes and dance of the Tang Dynasty.
Day 7 | Xi’an Zhangjiajie (B, L)
Today's highlight is a visit to the Archaeological Museum, home to an army of more than 6,000 life-size terra-cotta warriors and horses excavated from the tomb of the 1st emperor of the Qin Dynasty, a UNESCO World Heritage site and is one of the most famous sights in the world. After dinner, board your flight to Zhangjiajie.
Day 8 | Zhangjiajie (B, L, D)
In the morning, take a cable car to Tianzi Mountain a postcard perfect landscape of hundreds of majestic tree-covered peaks of different shapes and forms. In the afternoon, visit the Yuanjiajie Scenic Area where you will find the so-called "First Bridge under Heaven" and the mountain now known as Avatar Mountain that inspired the movie Avatar. Descend the mountain on the Bailong Elevator, the world’s highest and faster elevator of its kind.
Day 9 | Zhangjiajie Shanghai (B, L, D)
This morning visit Zhangjiajie National Park, and enjoy the incredible scenery. In the afternoon visit Baofeng Lake, and take a small boat to enjoy the beautiful scenery, and and enjoy being serenaded by local singers at different places on the lake. After dinner, fly to Shanghai, the “Paris of the Orient”.
Day 10 | Shanghai (B, L)
Start your morning with a visit to Shanghai Museum, China's most up-to-date museum, showcasing the country's ancient glory. In the afternoon, visit the Yu Garden, famous for its rock gardens, pavilions, halls and ponds, and the Old Shanghai Bazaar, with shops filled with all manner of interesting curios. Continue your visit to Shanghai, stopping in the Old Town and modern Xintiandi.
Day 11 | Shanghai Home (B)
Farewell to Shanghai. Transfer to airport for your departure flight home.
